THE BAIL CENTER

There are generally 3 ways to post bail.

1) CASH BAIL an arrested person may pay the entire amount of bail and be released. At the end of his or her case the judge will take any fines or fees out of the cash bail and return the rest. If a relative paid the cash bail then the entire amount will be returned to that person. It can take up to 6 weeks for the money to be returned.

2) PROPERTY BOND an arrested person may be released if someone offers their house as collateral. A formal motion must be filed in court and a judge must approve the property bond. A recent appraisal must be given to the judge and the equity in the house must be twice the value of the bail. This procedure can take up to three weeks.

3) BAIL BONDSMEN an arrested person may pay a bail company 10% of a bail and be released immediately by the jailers. If you hire the Morales Law Firm you will get a 20% discount.
